Wheels Through Time to Lead Nation's First July 4th Parade! This coming Saturday, July 4, the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie Valley, NC will be heading to Gatlinburg, TN to participate in a momentous event celebrating the birth of our great nation over 230 years ago.
For the thirty-fourth year in a row, Gatlinburg will kick off America's Independence Day celebrations with the nation's first 4th of July parade. The festivities, which begin at 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, and annually draws in excess of 100,000 spectators, will bring the city's streets to life as pre-parade entertainers and over 100 parade entries prepare to show their patriotism in a 1-mile procession down the Galinburg parkway parade route. |

Wheels Through Time Special Openings - July 2009
Saturday-Sunday, July 11-12 9a.m.-5p.m.Visit America's premier collection of rare and significant American motorcycles for a special weekend opening this June 13-15. With countless new machines at the museum this year, the staff at WTT will be giving regular demonstrations and exhibitions of several rare machines unseen since the their glory days during decades gone by. Demonstrations will include a 1936 H-D Experimental flathead, WTT's 1930 Land Speed Record Holder, and several other survivors from the glory days of the American Motorcycle. Wheels Through Time Presents "MotorCops" A 100 Year Love Affair Between Police and Motorcycling The Wheels Through Time American Transportation Museum in Maggie Valley, North Carolina has openned its newest exhibit at its Smoky Mountain location highlighting the history of motorcycle police in America. The museum, which houses the world’s premier collection of rare and historic American motorcycles and unique automobiles, openned the 60-day exhibit, Motorcops: A 100 Year Love Affair Between Police and the Motorcycle, on September 26, 2008.
Motorcops will tell the story of the long-lasting relationship between law enforcement and the motorcycle. From the first official police motorcycle patrol in 1911 to the operation of over 3400 motorcycle law enforcement units today, the rich and colorful history of police and motorcycles remains as strong as ever. Wheels Through Time Rides In Presidential Inauguration Parade!!! This past Tuesday, January 20, the Wheels Through Time Museum, Maggie Valley's All-American Transportation Museum and top tourism destination, made its way to Washington, DC for the inauguration of our country's 44th president. The museum, which was invited to participate in the Presidential Inauguration Parade in November of 2008, would attend the parade both in celebration of the swearing-in of our new president and in tribute to the 90th Anniversary of the 1919 Transcontinental Army Convoy on the Lincoln Highway. |
