Join us as the museum will be in full operation from Saturday-Monday, June 13-15, 2009.  The American Legion Riders will be on hand as special guests, and will bring the spirit of patriotism and camaraderie to the mountains of WNC.  With countless new machines at the museum this year, the staff at WTT will be giving regular demonstrations and exhibitions of several rare machines unseen since the their glory days during decades gone by.  Demonstrations will include a 1936 H-D Experimental flathead, WTT's 1930 Land Speed Record Holder, and several other survivors from the glory days of the American Motorcycle.

Special One-Day Opening - June 17, 2009

Join CycleSource, The Limpnickie Lot, and other riders from around the country when the CycleSource Big Mountain Run comes to Wheels Through Time.  The Museum will be open from 9a.m.-5p.m.  The run will make their first stop at Wheels Through Time Museum, then head into the Smokies on June 18-20, for a two-day, gypsy tour style ride through some of the best roads in the country.  We hope to see you there.

AMCA National Meet at Wauseon, Ohio Print E-mail

The Wheels Through Time Museum travels to Wauseon, Ohio for one of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America's top meets.  Swapmeet, AMCA judging, Field Meet, and Vintage Races will take place Friday through Sunday.  A "must do" for any vintage motorcycle enthusiast.  Curator, Dale Walksler will be competing in the Friday night races on a 1913 Thor Boardtrack Racer!

This Labor Day weekend, Wheels Through Time will be travelling to the 38th annual AMCA Fall National in Davenport, Iowa.  Hosted by the Chief Blackhawk Chapter of the AMCA, the "Big One" is renowned as the biggest and best of the AMCA nationals.  Gear up for swap meet, banquet, bike judging, and vintage races and a weekend of fun.  Davenport is fun for all ages, and whether your antique motorcycle aficianado or just want to see some great old American iron in its element, Davenport is the place for you.


 
The 5th Annual Barber Vintage Festival Print E-mail

Get ready for one of the biggest and best vintage motorcycle events in the south.  The 5th Annual Barber Vintage Festival, held at the World-Class Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, includes nearly all aspects of vintage motorcycling, including vintage road racing, motocross, trials, swapmeet, Friday night reception, and Saturday auction.  Visit one of the world's premier motorcycle museums, and get a glimpse into the world of vintage motorcycling at its finest.  A "must see" for visitors of all ages.  Saturday at noon is the "Race of the Century", in which competitors field machines at least 100 years of age, in a one lap race around the famed Barber Motorsports Park 2.3-mile road course.
 
Maxton Mile Land Speed Racing Season Finale! Print E-mail

Join Dale and the Wheels Through Time crew as they travel to the Maxton Mile for the season finale of the East Coast Timing Association's Land Speed Races.  Known as the principal land speed racing sanctioning organization in the Eastern United States, the ECTA hosts various Land Speed Racing events throughout the year. 

October's season finale will mark the final East Coast meet of the season.  Scores of car and motorcycle racers, with vehicles ranging from production cars and bikes to exotic purpose-racers, will gather at the Laurinburg-Maxton Airfield to speed down the Maxton Mile in an attempt to make history.  Specators are always welcome, and riders/drivers are encouraged to register and participate. 

The Wheels Through Time Museum will be competing in various classes during the run, and will be defending its newly set record in the Altered Vintage Production 750c.c. Gas class with their purpose-built 1930 Harley-Davidson 750.  Join us to see if this is the meet for setting new records.
