When: Thursday, May 14, 2009 Museum Open: 10a.m.-10p.m. The day is fast approaching! On May 14th, 2009 the museum will be hosting one of the nation's longest organized motorcycle rides when the SmokeOut Long Road Ride comes to Wheels Through Time. Both the museum and SmokeOut Long Road staff are expecting a huge turnout, and are encouraging everyone to bring family and friends.
In celebration of The Horse SmokeOut Rally's 10th Anniversary, SmokeOut staff have organized a 2000+ mile ride from Cottonwood, AZ to Rockingham, NC. The ride will begin on Sunday, May 10, and will pick up steam as it makes its way across the United States toward its final destination -- The SmokeOut X at the Farmington Dragway. With pre-designated stops along the way, both registered Long Road riders and those riding along for fun will have a chance to kick back and relax each night before hitting the road for the next leg in the morning. For the last stop on the Long Road Ride, the SmokeOut staff and Long Road Riders will make their way to Wheels Through Time for an afternoon of fun and entertainment. The museum will be in full operation from 10a.m.-10p.m., and will have evening entertainment sponsored by Full Throttle Saloon. This year's Long Road Riders will be crossing the county on all sorts of incredible "home-built" machines, and are expected to begin arriving at Wheels Through Time on Thrusday at around 3:30p.m. "We're extremely excited about the Long Road Stop at Wheels Through Time," said museum curator Dale Walksler. "The museum is looking better than ever, and there will be countless "new" machines on display. And with so many riders on so many interesting machines, it'll be like a bike show in the parking lot. We're expecting a big turnout, and are letting everyone know that this is the day to come!" Admission will be $10 at the gate, and will include museum admission for the entire day. Bring friends and family...this event is going to be one to remember. |
