The recent visit from producers, Edward Tise, Jason Johnston, and Nok Johnston, was made to capture the roaring sound of an authentic 1920s era motorcycle portrayed in the movie. Clooney, who frequently rides a 1920s era Indian motorcycle throughout the story, sent Tise and crew to Wheels Through Time to capture the roaring sounds of some real American iron. It didn’t take long for Tise to find what he was looking for among the countless machines housed in the museum. “You can’t find these sounds just anywhere,” commented Tise, one of Hollywood’s top production sound editors. “We knew that Wheels Through Time was the place to go. Everything in this amazing collection runs, so we knew there would be plenty to choose from.” Tise has been in the movie and sound industry for over thirty years and has been integral in such films as Swordfish, starring John Travolta and Halle Berry, Bad News Bears, with Billy Bob Thorton, and Grumpier Old Men, with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. Over his 30 years in the industry, Tise has been nominated for various awards including the BAFTA Film Awards’ Best Sound Award for his work in the 1987 blockbuster Full Metal Jacket and the Golden Satellite Awards’ Best Sound Award for the 2000 hit movie “Eyes Wide Shut”. Wheels Through Time curator, Dale Walksler, was more than obliged to assist in the matter. “Having the opportunity to work with such accomplished individuals is not something that happens everyday. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Edward, and he and his crew are certainly welcome at Wheels Through Time anytime.” Oscar winners George Clooney and Renee Zellweger match wits in the romantic comedy, which is set against the backdrop of America’s pro-football league in 1925. Clooney plays Dodge Connolly, an aging football hero determined to lead his misfit team to glory. Zellweger and John Krasinski round out the cast, playing a spit-fire newswoman and a golden-boy war hero turned football star. “Leatherheads”, which is still in production, is scheduled for release on December 7, 2007 at theatres across America. The motorcycle used for sound, as well as 275 of America’s rarest machines are on display at the Wheels Through Time Museum, seven days a week.
